D-Day Plus 79 (2023)

USS LST 393 is proud to commemorate the service of American Veterans June 3rd by marking the anniversary of D-Day, the invasion of France in 1944. LST 393 was there at Omaha Beach and has the Battle Star to prove it". This will be proceeded by a USO style 1940's Swing Dance featuring the 126 Army Band on June 2nd starting at 8:00 PM

It will be a special Day highlighted by a land battle between German and Allied reenactors and Air Raid Muskegon a mock air raid attack on the ship by the Hooligans Flight Team Flying Vintage aircraft. The LST will be defended by Easy Company 2nd Marines reenactors firing replica machine guns and rifles

Tours of the ship will be available, food vendors like Doggers Doggies, Lees Famous Chicken, Northside Lions Club "All you can Eat Breakfast" will be there at 8:00AM, displays like "82nd Airborne with WWII Guns, equipment, other artifacts, Vintage Military Vehicles, Dump Truck, Wrecker, Command Car, Jeeps and 2 ½ Personnel truck and information tables by The Veterans Service Center and Deans Transportation
